Journey Youth Adult Leader Expectations (Review Only)

ROLE:

Build Mentor-to-Mentoree relationships with a group of students who attend Journey YTH at your location and help them grow in faith.

REPORTS TO:

- YTH Pastor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Encourage Students Towards A Next Step In Their Walk With Jesus: 
- Regular Attendance 
- Salvation 
- Baptism 
- Serving 
- Etc. 
 
Build Relationships With Students: 
- Know your students' names and where they are from 
- Know what they are passionate about and where they struggle 
- Connect with them weekly through a group chat 
 
Facilitate Small Group Conversations: 
- Encourage your students to lead the conversation 
- Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger 
- Ask thought provoking questions. If a student answers short, ask another student to, "add to the conversation" 
- Apply Scripture to situations and circumstances your students walk through 
- Pray for your students in group and out of group

SKILLS NEEDED:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A call and passion to reach the next generation
- Humble, grace-filled, and honest
- Values integrity

TIME COMMITMENT

- 1 year of weekly groups (3-4 times a month) 
- Volunteer at 4-5 Encounter Nights a year
- Hang out with group outside of regular weekly gatherings (1-2 times a quarter) 
- Quarterly Team Nights 
- Weekly Huddles at 6:15pm on Wednesday Evenings
